Grande Prairie is the main city in the northwestern part of the province of Alberta. The city of Grande Prairie is one of Canada's fastest growing cities. In 1995, the city hosted the Canada Winter Games, a nationally televised event, with hundreds of performers competing. The city will also play host to the 2010 Arctic Winter Games.
